Certificate in Scholarly Excellence

Once the student has completed the BA (Hons), a final certificate in scholarly excellence is on offer where the student will delve deeper into the realms of Islamic Law and commentary of the Hadith and Qur’an. Completion of this final stage of our syllabus provides the student with the skills and tools needed to become a scholar of Islam.

PART-TIME

This subject looks at the rules that govern the formation and regulation of Laws and takes one’s knowledge of Islamic law to an advanced level. It is taught by following a classical text Noorul Anwaar by Imam Ahmed Jeevan (RA).

The syllabus follows the same structure as Usul Fiqh I, studied in the Advanced Diploma but goes into more detail in the respective Primary Sources of Islamic Law.

By the end of the course, the student will understand the elaborate matrix that underpin the formation of rules in Islamic Law. This is paramount for the formation of any future Ijtihad that is required to deal with the challenges of modernity.

Having acquired a plethora of knowledge and skills through-out the course of the Diplomas and the BA Honours, the student is now taken on a journey of the Quran to apply those skills, first hand to understand the some of the intricacies of this Glorious Book.

Key verses from each Chapter of the Holy Quran are selected to give an overview of the contents and an examination of the major themes.

It is hoped that by the end of this process, the student would have been enlightened by a working overview of the entire Holy Qur’an. More importantly to embark upon a journey for further exploration into the intricacies of this Glorious Book.

Having acquired a plethora of knowledge and skills through-out the course of the Diplomas and the BA Honours, the student is now taken on a journey of Sahih Muslim, one of the 6 popular authentic books of Hadith, to apply those skills, first hand to understand the some of the intricacies of this Glorious Book.

Key Hadiths from each Chapter are selected and are the subject of elaboration. It will show the ‘human side’ to the application of the Quranic ethos, in that how the Prophet ﷺ  delivered his message and the impact of it upon his noble Companions (May Allah be pleased with them).

This course brings together all the ‘dots’ from the previous year. A formal “Izn” (Permision) is granted after this, which effectively recognises the scholarly achieving of the student and their authority to guide people from the Qur’an and Sunnah
